Yamaha YZF-R25 online booking for Indonesia closed a few hours back recording 2,800 orders in the 25 hour window. Further booking for R25 in Indonesia are to be made at Yamaha’s dealership outlets. No word about waiting period so far, but first 1,000 customers who booked online will be getting their rides early.

R25 costs about twice than that of R15 at 53 million Indonesian Rupiah (2.71 lakhs in Indian Rupees). Honda launched facelifted version of CBR 250R few days back, and it seems that R25 has overshadowed it.However, both bikes have close comparison cues, that can be checked out here.

Yamaha YZF-R25 photos -018Nicknamed baby M1, YZF-R25 displays body structure and design cues of Yamaha’s R series lineage and wears supersport design theme of Yamaha YZF-M1. Attractive components include sporty twin headlamps separated by an air duct, multi-layer front fairing, split seats, LED tail lights and aluminium alloy-wheels. Instrument cluster gets sporty functionalities like shift timing indicator light, gear position indicator, FI diagnostic, timer, fuel consumption indicator, trip and odometer, engine temperature warning and oil change indicator.

Yamaha YZF-R25 photos -012The R25 weighs 166 kg, comes with parallel twin cylinder engine measuring 249cc of combined displacement. The power plant features DOHC direct drive camshaft and total of 8 valves operating inlet and outlet. Maximum power reads 36 PS at 12,000 rpm and peak torque records 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

    I speculate the R25 would be a fun-to-ride mile muncher with a comfortable seating posture. I hated its looks at first, but it grew on me. Waiting eagerly for it’s launch in India.
