Yamaha YZF-R3 rendered: A 300 cc or a sub liter 3 cylinder?
Yamaha R25 concept unveiled late last year at Tokyo Auto Show. Now, Yamaha has registered a new name R3. Is it for a new 300cc sports bike, which could be launched sometime soon, after the YZF R25 launch, or a start of new series, under which Yamaha will bring their new sub liter three cylinder engines?
Yamaha YZF R3 could very well be the sports bike which is powered by a 300 cc parallel twin, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine, offering peak output of about40 PS. What will this to brand Yamaha, is bring a lot of new young customers, which currently go to Suzuki, Kawasaki or Honda, who already have a quarter liter bikes on offer in markets across the globe.
Rivaling the Kawasaki Ninja 300, the new Yamaha YZF 3R might see its engine mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The new high performance bike from Yamaha could sport a high set redline considering it is being projected as a racing model, while it could be seen in red and white design elements. In India, a 300 cc bike from Yamaha will compete with Ninja 250 and 300 besides the KTM RC 390 and pose tough competition in the mid sized bike segment.
Apart from this, the R3 could mean a new bike, which will powered by Yamaha’s new three cylinder engine. Whichever be the case, if that is how the bike is going to look, we are sure it will bring a lot of buyers. (render via AutoEvolution)
