It’s a brilliant Bugatti week as the company celebrated a 100 Bugatti Chiron owners. In production since 2016, the 100th Chiron is headed to the land of Arabian nights. Attired in dark blue carbon exterior with matte finish, keeping with it’s quintessential essence of unique, the paint scheme is a first. In simple words, each of the 100 Bugatti Chiron owners has an unique car.
The sideline paintwork in Italian red and mink black wheels create contrast. Leather work on the interior includes plenty of red. Lucky number 100 costs €2.85 million net.
Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., congratulated the owner – “I find the 100th Chiron especially pleasing. It is dynamic and elegant in equal measure. This car shows that Bugatti produces highly individualized masterpieces of automobile craftsmanship that are simply unparalleled.”
And the order books are doing the talking. About 70 cars are headed to customer garages globally from the Bugatti factory each year. In all, 500 Chiron vehicles will be produced, and the first 100 Bugatti Chiron landmark heralds the 1/5th mark.
On June 1, Bugatti President and Lego Group CEO will reveal the new LEGO Technic version of Bugatti Chiron at a special launch event at the new LEGO House in Billund, Denmark. Back in March 2018, the company introduced the new Bugatti Chiron Sport that comes in with better aerodynamics, thanks to more use of carbon fiber parts. A lighter and more dynamic model promising better handling and enhanced performance, the new Bugatti Chiron Sport has been officially launched. Coming in with a new colour scheme of Red and Black, Chiron Sport is priced from €2.65 million (£2,361,600 or Rs 21.3 crores) as compared to €2.5 million (£2,227,955) for the standard Chiron.
Ofcourse, the price mentioned is for the European market. If you want to buy this car in India, there will be additional import duty as well as local taxes, which will bring the cost of the car to about Rs 45 crores in India. Orders are now open and deliveries are expected to commence by the end of this year.
New Bugatti Chiron Sport uses more carbon fiber parts, thus making it 18 kgs lighter than the regular Chiron. It gets new lightweight wheels, stiffer suspension and shock absorbers along with new steering facilities. Dynamic handling, optimized rear axle differential and Dynamic Torque Vectoring are also among its new features.
All this combined, gives Chiron Sport amazing handling characteristics. Bugatti says, that “it can reach its full handling potential even at cornering speeds in excess of 200km/h (124mph).” All this is possible without making any tweaks to the engine or its output. Chiron Sport is powered by the same W16 8.0 liter petrol turbocharged engine that delivers 1,500 PS and 1,600 Nm.
Interiors of the Bugatti Chiron Sport are also different. It gets Chiron Sport logo embroidered on its central console and the Sport logo on door sills. Anodized black finish is seen on the engine starter button, drive mode selector and marketing plate and the black grey color scheme continues to its seating with red contrasting stitching.
Exterior color options include Italian Red, French Racing Blue, silver Grid Rafale, and dark grey Gun Powder.
