11-year-old drag racing a Lambo without seatbelt – Video

One wrong move and the kid’s life would have been in jeopardy.

Putting your 11-year-old son in a Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4’s driver seat on a drag strip itself is irresponsible. Not ensuring that he belts up before taking off is pure stupidity.

An Instagram video posted by an Atlanta-based customizing firm Corsa Performance shows a very young boy lining up against a Chevrolet Corvette with his dad in the passenger seat. As you can see from the video, the seat belt is fastened to prevent the alarm but the boy is sitting on top of it rather than being secured by it!

One could argue that the whole episode took place in a very controlled environment. That’s the only encouraging fact. Giving a little boy access to a 610 PS untamed beast and disregarding basic safety requirements is a perfect recipe for disaster.

Of course, the kid handled the drag run with appreciable aplomb and even managed to outrun the Corvette which was driven by an adult. But sadly, that doesn’t overshadow the fact that he was not prepared for an unforeseen incident.

The Huracan LP 610-4 is powered by mid-mounted 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine which belts out a serious 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque. All that power is distributed to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
