2012 Formula One Indian Grand Prix preparations: Airtel stirs up excitement
With the 2012 Airtel Indian Grand Prix slated for October 26 to 28, 2012, excitement is heating up and Bharti Airtel, total sponsors and race partners along with MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One team, are getting fans into the mood across Mumbai. They have planned a number of programs such as the Simulator Challenge Be a part of the Pit Crew Challenge, F1 Quizzes and F1 Screenings all across Mumbai. Special F1 car simulators are installed in a number of malls, colleges and offices across the city to instigate fans and add to the frenzy.
These simulators will offer fans hands on experience of what it is really like to be at the controls of an F1 car on track and is likely to cause excitement to a number of fans irrespective of the age group. Prime locations where such simulators are installed include Oberoi Mall, Phoenix Mills in Lower Parel and R-City at Ghatkopar.

Thereafter, just by hitting the ‘Like’ button participants can enter the contest and be a part of the show at which there will be one final winner selected from the top 20 contestants. Mumbai, 26th September 2012: With 2012 Airtel Indian Grand Prix fast approaching, the Formula OneTM action in India is getting hotter. Title sponsor and Race Partner with the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One team, Bharti Airtel has now kicked off a host of on-ground activations inviting the sport’s fans in [city] to enjoy the F1 fever. This extensive customer engagement programme by Airtel includes activities including Simulator Challenge, ‘Be a part of the pit crew’ Challenge, F1 Quizes, F1 Screenings and more.
Airtel has installed F1 car stimulators across malls, colleges, office complexes and pubs across Mumbai (see list appended). These stimulators promise an ultimate gaming experience and are an exciting replica of an F1TM car that has an accompanying steering console to a TV screen for participants to enjoy racing on a virtual Formula OneTM track.

The final winner of ‘Be a part of the pit crew’ contest will be selected from the top 20 contestants as per the leaderboard. Aside from being a part of the pit crew and getting a sneak peek into all the behind-the-scenes action, the lucky winner of this contest and friend will also meet MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS team driver Nico Rosberg. Other participants in this contest also stand a chance to win picnic stand tickets for the race day.
