BMW X1 has already been launched in Indonesia. Changes made to the new X1 include remodeled headlights and taillights along with a nip and tuck job on the rear bumper coupled with improved interiors. Interiors boasts of silver accents on the steering wheel a redesigned centre console as also chrome accentuated air vents. One can also make use of Pandora and connected drive features which allow customers to keep in touch with the outside world even when driving.
BMW first showed the X1 to the world at the 2008 Paris Motor Show as a concept. BMW X1 production began in 2009. It is sold in India as CKD units from the BMW India plant in Chennai. The X1 is offered in a range of petrol and diesel engines. Internationally, the small SUV is offered in 2.0L and 3.0L petrol engines offering power in the range of 150 PS to 304 PS while 2.0L diesel engines are also on offer, which deliver power in the range of 116 PS to 218 PS. BMW X1 competes with Audi Q3 in India, which was launched in 2012.
BMW India currently offers the X1 in only sDrive options of 18i and 20d. Considering Q3 available in AWD system, it is expected that BMW will introduce the xDrive option with all wheel drive in X1 for India. More details and images from the BMW launch floor on 14th Feb 2013. Stay tuned.
