2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra break cover

General Motors have revealed the all new 2014 Cheverolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra, with the option of three new engines. Along with a new design, the new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado will be offered in a choice of 4.3L V6, 5.3L V8 and 6.2L V8 EcoTec3 engines. GM will manufacture new Silverado and Sierra at their plants in Flint, Michigan; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Silao, Mexico.

GM has not yet released the power output and mileage details of these new trucks, but they had stated earlier that 2014 Sierra and Silverado will be more powerful and economical than Ford EcoBoost powered cars. Both of these new trucks will publicly debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in Jan 2013.

“The new Sierra and Silverado are more differentiated than ever in unique features and materials, in their standard content and in their design and details,” said Mark Reuss, president, GM North America. “These are two strong and distinct brands – each one appealing to a different kind of customer.”

These new GM trucks feature cylinder deactivation technology which considerably improves mileage. Transmission for all three engines is taken care by a six-speed automatic transmission with Auto Grade Braking. In the market, 2014 Cheverolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra will compete with Ford F-Series, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan.
