After last generation City’s much exclusive MUGEN edition, which only 20 customers in Philippines were able to claim the pride of owning one, this all-new City’s MUGEN version seems way sportier with tricolour decals through C-pillars. Featuring strictly cosmetic upgrades, it includes same Taffeta White paint job as seen last year, tricolour decals (with MUGEN’s red, gold and black close stripes) along rear sides and top of windshield, full body skirts, black MUGEN front grille, carbon fibre-esque side mirror housing, boot-lip spoiler and 17-inch 8 spoke alloys finished in black.
Rest of the sedan remains same as stock City VX yet, but Kazuhide Yasui, Director of Motorsports and Products at MUGEN, said upgrades for interior, engine, suspension, and brakes will be offered when launched during third quarter of 2014 in Philippines. 2014 City MUGEN will be available in other countries a little later. Just like the previous gen Mugen edition, this one too is not expected to feature engine upgrades.
Yasui added that MUGEN acknowledges the enthusiasm of motorists in Philippines to accessorise their rides, which gave them ground to sell their MUGEN edition last year. He also mentioned that continuing partnership of HCPI and MUGEN is growing effective, that outside Japan, HCPI stands No.1 in MUGEN product distributorship.
