2014 India Bike Week #IBW14: LIVE Coverage Day 2

Day 1 of India Bike Week 2014 ensured an event laden venue with multiple acts been scheduled simultaneously to ensure there was something for everyone. So while The young girl band, The Vinyl Records took to centre stage, MRF continued testing human strength getting more on more participants to lift tires and stand with arms wide open. Not surprisingly, constant cheering, beer, and a feel good factor resulted in the emergence of many a strongman.

India Bike Week organized by 70 Event Media Group in collaboration with FOX Traveller saw events, workshops, performances all at a platform that has the support from Biking groups across the country.

The day started with an interaction with Scott Redding, who’s achieved many a record that will take youngsters years to beat with a number of achievements already. The rider is a guest at India Bike Week 2014 and started getting on his 2 wheels at age 4.

Bike Build Off showcase saw 7 motorcycle customizers shortlisted and 2013’s Build off winner Vijay Singh from Rajputana Customs yet agin had a unique offering.

Long distance motorcyclists Ted Simon, Sam Childers & Nick Sanders rode on Goa streets and then into IBW. Later in the day, the long distance gurus shared their stories, experiences and biking tips at a panel discussion with Jay Kannayian, Bharadwaj Dayala (solo around the world on a motorcycle), Ted Simon, Lorraine Chittock, and Elisa Massey.

A discussion with Martin da Costa, Keertan Adyantaya, and Anoop Prakash helped understand IBW’s ideology, spirit, and growth.

Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG said, “We are staggered with the response that the second edition of the festival has received. We’ve showcased some of the best bikes in the world here today – Vintage bikes, chopper class, super bikes and hundreds of others. It was awesome to be the platform to launch the Harley Davidson Street 750, and Nisttarkya – 1st Indian Electric Concept Bike by Santhosh, X-Spec Motorcycles will showcase their third & final prototype. Its been an amazing day, and we’re looking forward to tomorrow and sharing IBW with the thousands of Bikers who’ve made it here from all over India.”

Keertan Adyantaya, Managing Director Fox Traveller added “We at Fox share a passion for travel, adventure and thrill which has been truly reflected through The India Bike Week. With two-wheeler enthusiasts from all over the world appreciating our efforts to bring the only biking festival closer to them, it was truly an unforgettable experience. The participation from international biking legends, Freecross motorcycle stunters, over and above the professional stunt zones. Bike displays, new bike launches and the famous bike build off; on a larger scale- we have taken the event to an unprecedented scale.

Freestyle motorcycle stunts, saw the stunt zone host 5 groups. Today the 3 finalists will face off. Harley davidson has also shown their Street 750. MRF Tyres Freestyle Muscle FMMX event had everyone’s attention. Day 2 will again see club parades. This apart there is a loudest bike competition, vintage bike parade, and launch of India’s 1st electric concept bike, Nisttarkya by Santhosh.

IBW 2014 Day 2 also welcomes the legendary Machine Gun Preacher Sam Childers, mod bike parade, FMX, Biker first aid by Dr Arnob Gupta, biker burnout, Biker Freedom book launch by Harper Collins, Mr and Mrs IBW Award, award cermeony for Vintage Concours, mod bikes, and Harley Davidson customs.

Plenty of biker movies are being shown. DubVision from Netherlands performs this evening, stories of the Motorcycel Grandma, PRS safe riding by Vicky Jaisingh (film) IBW unplugged contest, How to ride heavy motorcycles panel discussion, and bike skills challenge.
