Maruti Swift facelift launch after Diwali in November 2014


2014 Maruti Swift is one of much awaited launches, likely to take place in November as per report by Economic Times. The year seems to see a reset in premium hatchback competition, as facelift, next gen and all new launches are happening one after another, from major brands in the race.

maruti-swift-facelift-3-right-frontStarted off with Volkswagen Polo facelift with new 1.5 TDI engine, then Fiat Punto EVO will launch on August 5, followed by Hyundai Elite i20 on August 11, Volkswagen Polo GT variants (TSI & TDI) during last week of this month and Tata Bolt hatchback by end of 2014. Nissan Micra and Renault Pulse are Missing In Action.

Swift facelift is not expected too undergo major surgery as it as already selling much higher than its rivals. Cosmetic changes and subtle enhancement of features will be carried out to give customers feel of buying a car that is not dated. Sales chart does not suggest Maruti is in need of revamping Swift to continue being best seller in segment.

Exteriors of new Swift facelift will get slightly tweaked front bumper, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), redesigned fog lamp surrounds, automatic parking & head lamps, fresh alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, brushed up rear bumper, new centre stop light and retouched taillights. Interiors will receive dual tone finish, six airbags, bluetooth supported In Car Entertainment (ICE) system, foldable rear seats and revised instrument cluster.
