2015 Audi Q7 made its official debut at this year’s Detroit Motor Show in January. But before its official debut, the car had already arrived in India for testing purposes. This confirmed the fact that Audi India wants to launch the new Q7 in India as early as possible.

Spied again in Mumbai, the new generation Audi Q7 boasts of a new design language with a hexagonal single frame chrome grille on its front fascia while the rest of the external design remains quite the same as compared to its earlier counterpart.

Engine option on the 2015 Audi Q7 for India could include a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine offering 272 hp peak power while peak torque could stand at 600 Nm. This will be mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels via Audi Quattro AWD technology.

Fuel efficiency will be higher in the new Q7 as compared to its outgoing model due to 325 kg weight loss thanks to a new MLB platform. 26% more fuel efficiency is promised on the 2015 Audi Q7 and acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph will be achieved in 6.3 seconds.


Interiors of the 2015 Audi Q7 will boast of a Virtual Cockpit instrument display and new design accents. A new touch controlled MMI system and Android Auto besides Apple CarPlay will also form a part of the Q7’s infotainment system while rear passengers will be provided with tablets with 3D audio.

Speaking about its launch, Audi India Head, Joe King has told PTI that the company will launch 5 new cars in the next five months, starting with the new TT, which will be launched on 23rd April. This implies 2015 Audi Q7 India launch could happen by August 2015. Once launched, the 2015 Audi Q7 will have to compete with Volvo XC90, BMW X5 and Mercedes Benz GL Class in a price bracket of INR 75-90 lakhs.
