New Bajaj Platina spied testing, launch in coming weeks?
Spied 2015 Bajaj Platina will be the company’s fresh ammunition against Hero Splendor Pro. Latter is the best selling bike in India, a variant of the top selling motorcycle nameplate in the world. That is some serious competition, for which Bajaj Auto is spicing up the Platina to attract first time buyers and commuting folks.
It seems 2015 Bajaj Platina will receive only new set of body graphics and fresh colour schemes to make the bike look like a new version. However, Bajaj Platina facelift spy shot reveals new Bajaj logo on the crank case. In outgoing model, the left end of crankcase is finished with convex bulge whereas the one in the test mule features a concentric pocket at the centre of which a different form of Bajaj logo is featured.

New Bajaj Platina is expected to be powered by the same 4-stroke 99.27 cc air-cooled engine producing 8.2 PS max power and 8.05 Nm peak torque. But the engine could be tuned to deliver extra mileage as that is the only probable parameter that can help the bike put a worthy fight against Hero Splendor, not to mention Honda Dream. The 4-speed gearbox would also be retained.
