2015 BMW M3 sedan spied: New Z4 India launch in Nov 2013?

From the spy video of the new M3 sedan, it is clear that it will feature carbon fiber roof, the standard M alloys, aggressive M body kit, and probably some new body paints. The one you see in the video is a Yas Marina Blue Metallic, inspired from the Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina F1 circuit, which features this color on their run-off areas. Transmission options include a 6 speed manual as standard, and 7 speed automatic M-DCT gearbox as optional, the new M3 might premiere at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January next year.

In India, BMW India is gearing up to launch the new Z4, reports Overdrive. This will be their third launch in three months even as the company is planning a 3 Series GT and another new model for launch in early 2014. First unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in January this year, you can have a look at a hi-res image gallery of the new Z4 here.

BMW India is also investing an amount of INR 390 crores in the Chennai plant, adding a new assembly line which will ensure that the company will be able to produce a total of 14,000 units per annum. The new assembly line will also enable the company to increase local assembly from a current 6 to 8 models.

The Z4 is available in global markets with three engine options in the form of a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter and two six cylinder 3.0 liter offering 340 PS and 306 PS peak power respectively. BMW will also offer the Z4 in sDrive 35i variant which will receive a 6 cylinder 3.0 liter engine offering 306PS offering 17 mpg in city limits and 24 mpg on the highway. Once launched in India, the BMW Z4 will be priced higher than the outgoing model and will command a price in excess of INR 70 lakhs.
