General Motors has announced its new 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV will be making its way to India via the CKD route this year. To be assembled at the company’s Halol plant in Gujarat, the new Trailblazer has been seen on test on a number of occasions and though under camouflage, various details are evident.
Based on the same ladder frame chassis as General Motors’ Colorado pick-up truck, 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer will find competition when launched in India from Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero, and Ford Endeavour.
Interiors were noted to sport a dual color scheme in black and beige with Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. This full fledged, 7 seater SUV measures 4,878mm long, 1,902mm wide and 1,834mm tall and has a large wheelbase measuring 2,870mm. Safety features will include ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent control and engine drag control. Airbags are included for both driver and co-passenger.
Slated for launch later this year, probably timed just before the festive season in the country, 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV will receive a 2.8 liter four cylinder diesel engine offering 200 hp power and 500 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission.
The company has already launched the 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer in the Philippines where it is powered by a 2.5 and 2.8 liter diesel engine. In the Philippines it retail for 1.298 million PHP (Rs 18.58 lakhs). Price in India should be in the same region.
