Said 1.3 lire i-VTEC engine in next gen European Jazz is supported by Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology, which promises improved fuel economy and higher performance. In 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Honda showcased Fit (Jazz in Japanese and US markets) and revealed that it will get three engine options. First is a 1.3 litre Atkinson cycle i-VTEC engine with DOHC paired to wide-range CVT. It is said to deliver 26 kmpl mileage. Second is 1.5 litre direct injection DOHC i-VTEC motor with DOHC which produces 10% higher power than current engine. Third is 1.5 litre Atkinson cycle i-VTEC engine also with DOHC, paired to an electric motor, and mated to 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). It is claimed to offer best in segment fuel efficiency of 36.4 kmpl. All aforementioned mileage figures are based on Japanese driving cycle.
2015 Jazz will be built on global compact platform, as part of Honda’s ‘small series’ range. Highlights of third generation European Honda Jazz prototype include revamped exterior design, longer overall length (by 15 mm), extended wheelbase (by 30 mm), carryover of centre fuel tank layout to maximise cabin room, versatile Honda Magic Seats and improved ride quality.
New Honda Jazz will go on sale in early 2015, Indian launch is also expected at around same time, more specifically in March, 2015.

Today Honda has released the first images of the new Jazz prototype that will make its public debut next month at the 2014 Mondial de l‘Automobile in Paris.
This prototype introduces a completely new body shell for the popular model, with a sleek and modern design that hints at the significant advances to be introduced in this latest model. The external dimensions have changed with the length being 15mm longer and the wheelbase 30mm longer helping to create an even more spacious cabin.
As part of Honda’s ‘small series’ range, the third generation European Jazz will be built on the company’s global compact platform. It will retain the centre fuel tank layout that is already found in the current model, as well as the Civic and recently-announced HR-V. This space-saving layout delivers genuine customer benefits in terms of versatility, interior practicality and storage solutions. Inside, the highly versatile Honda Magic Seats® will also feature in this latest model.
Due to go on sale in summer 2015, the new European Jazz will offer improved fuel economy and higher performance thanks to its new Earth Dreams Technology engine. The new 1.3 litre i-VTEC petrol engine is supported by either a six-speed manual (replacing the previous five-speed unit) or a CVT transmission.

The new Jazz is set to deliver a more refined and comfortable ride for both the driver and passengers, thanks to a new suspension system.
Further information on Honda‘s new Jazz for Europe will be announced during Honda’s press conference at the 2014 Mondial de l‘Automobile in Paris, at 16.45 CET on Thursday 2 October (Hall 3).
