2015 Ford Endeavor SUV which the company will be assembling at its Chennai facility, is to launch in India later this year, where it will compete with Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Ssangyong Rexton, Isuzu MU-7 and Toyota Fortuner. Snapped once again while on test in India, the new Endeavor is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 25 lakhs.
Launched recently in Thailand, where 2015 Ford Endeavor SUV received a 2.0 liter petrol, 2.2 liter four cylinder diesel and 3.2 liter five cylinder diesel. In India the SUV is expected to receive only the diesel options, as is the case with present Endeavour. Transmission options will be upgraded to 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic, as compared to the present 5 speed options.
Dimensions of the new Endeavor will however be reduced as compared to its present counterpart. Dimensions stand at 4,893mm length, 1,862mm width and 1,837mm height while ground clearance is increased from 210 mm to 225mm thus allowing for better off roading facilities. Interiors will also be spruced up to include better quality material while infotainment will be in the form of 9 speaker audio system with sub woofer, 8” touchscreen display and smart phone integration.
The new Endeavor will receive five exterior colours of Cool White, Black Mica Metallic, Silver Aluminum Metallic, Sparkling Gold Metallic and Red Sunset Metallic will official launch sometime later this year, probably well timed just ahead of the festive season.
