2015 Ford Endeavor undergoing ARAI formalities ahead of this year’s launch

2015 Ford Endeavour launch soon

Ford’s new Fortuner rival is scheduled to be launched towards the end of this year. Spyshots reveal that the 7-seat SUV is currently undergoing ARAI formalities.

Spyshots of a snazzy red Ford Mustang GT within one of ARAI premises in Pune had emerged yesterday, indicating that the American automaker is planning to launch the car here as a brand shaper. Also caught in the frame (on the right corner) was an example of 2015 Endeavour which evidently didn’t quite catch the attention of the photographer as much as the pony car did!

The new Ford SUV has been testing in India for quite some time now and reports suggest, launch could happen in the last quarter of this year. Ford India is currently occupied in getting Figo Aspire ready for a festive season launch.

New Endeavour for India is likely to be available with a choice of two diesel engines. The base 2.2-litre four-cylinder mill is capable of 160 PS and 384 Nm of torque while the top-end 3.2-litre five-cylinder unit delivers a healthy 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque. Higher variants will offer 4×4 system and both manual and automatic transmissions are expected to offered.

ARAI crash test facility

ARAI has recently inaugurated crash test facility at its Chakan campus.

With an estimated price range of INR 20-25 lakhs (ex-showroom), 2015 Endeavour will relieve its aging predecessor off the challenging task of taking on Toyota Fortuner. Ford India would assemble the 7-seat SUV at Chennai from Thai-sourced CKD kits.
