Slated for launch in the next few months, Ford Figo Aspire sedan is a sub 4 meter car. It will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. and compete with the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai XCent, and Tata Zest.
Showcased at 2014 Auto Expo as a concept, Figo Aspire will be built on the Fiesta platform which has been modified to contribute to higher strength while entire structure is made of lighter steel so as to reduce overall weight. The first unit rolled off Ford India’s $1 billion Sanand plant this morning.
It features sporty looks, unmatched performance and on board technologies; claims Ford India. These attributes, will make Figo Aspire a benchmark in the segment. Ford Figo Aspire receives a trapezoidal front grille (much like the Global Ford products), elongated headlights, a raked back windshield and chrome accents.
It gets outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators, curved rear tail lamps and a silver diffuser on rear bumper. Sophisticated exteriors give way to luxurious and spacious interiors. Cabin is roomy while added emphasis is given to storage spaces.
Materials are of best quality and are durable while on board technology includes an innovative device dock that permits storage and charging of mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation system. Figo Aspire is also equipped with SYNC AppLink, allowing drivers to concentrate on driving while allowing for hands free control over phone and entertainment using voice commands.
Ford Figo Aspire sedan will be offered a 1.2 liter TiVCT petrol engine and 1.5l TDCi diesel engine. Ford has not revealed output of these engines officially, but expect the petrol to deliver about 85 PS and diesel to deliver around 80 PS. Both engines will be tuned to deliver better fuel efficiency. Manual and automatic transmissions will be on offer.
