2015 Honda Aviator is now the 7th model in Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s product onslaught for the year.Honda Aviator is the third scooter on the common platform and powertrain shared among Activa and Dio. While Honda Activa poses as a generic scooter good for all kinds of users, Dio appeals to the young at heart and Aviator caters to riders who are taller and more matured in a manner of saying. Honda Aviator could still be the second best selling scooter in India, behind Activa.
But it seems the new Honda Aviator will be taking quite a different role, with its completely revamped styling compared to the only version of the nameplate yet. The plastic panels that define the shape and character of the scooter are totally redesigned, and the model is given multi-spoke alloy wheels. Still, the tall stance and bold looks are carefully retained, to preserve that the brand Aviator from Honda is known for.
Apart from the radically different and young looks in 2015 Honda Aviator, no functional change is expected. Same 109.2 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 8 bhp max power @ 7,000 rpm and 8.77 Nm peak torque @ 5,500 rpm, mated to V-Matic transmission, would be used with no noticeable change in output. The motor will be Honda Eco Technology (HET) incorporated as usual.
Expect launch of 2015 Honda Aviator to take place in two to three months.
