hyundai genesis korea previewHTRAC system has been put to the test in world class venues such as Nürburgring in Germany and Yeongam in Korea. It is noted for the fact that it allows electronic distribution of torque between the front and rear axles which in turn contributes to better handling of the car. HTRAC system is also to be introduced on other models as well.

2014 Hyundai Genesis comes in with design cues common with the HCD-14 Genesis Concept showcased at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January this year. It sports an Audi A7 like C Pillar while tail lamps are cut into the profile of the car itself.

Hyundai is expected to continue with the same 3.8 liter V-6 Lambda and 5.0 liter V-8 Tau engines though they will be enhanced to offer more power and an elevated level of fuel efficiency. A diesel and hybrid engine is also being rumored though the same has not been confirmed.

The pre-launch media event promotes the cars domestic launch scheduled later in 2013, and debuts in major markets next year. “Launched in 2008, Hyundai’s first premium rear-wheel drive sedan Genesis surprised the industry with its outstanding product competitiveness,” said Moon Sik Kwon, head of Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Center, in his welcome remarks. “The evolved all-new Genesis is the product of Hyundai’s best resources and capabilities and we strongly believe it will be a game-changer in the market.” For more information, scroll through the press release below.
