2015 LA Auto Show – A brief overview with over 300 photos

2015 LA Auto Show

Only a handful of LA debuts are destined for India.

The ongoing LA Auto Show has its fair share of interesting world premieres across different segments and body styles. Although only a very few of them will eventually make it to India, here is a list of cars that made their first public appearance at Los Angeles.

Let’s start off with the American products. The auto show hosted the 2017 Lincoln MKZ which is the first product to carry the brand’s new design direction and high performance engine. The new range of Lincolns will better distinguish themselves form the mainstream Ford models. Ford has its 2017 Escape on display. GM’s stall was graced by the Denali variants of the Sierra 1500 and Canyon pickup trucks as well as Cadillac XT5¬†and 2017 Buick LaCrosse. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) debuted the Fiat 124 Spider sportscar, the US-spec Alfa Romeo Giulia, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night, and Wrangler BlackCountry.

The Japanese contingent didn’t miss the opportunity either. The Honda Civic Coupe world premiered at LA alongside the new Infiniti QX70, next gen Mazda CX-9 SUV, 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, updated Mirage, new Nissan Sentra, Juke, Subaru Impreza sedan concept and Scion C-HR crossover concept.

The Europeans are visiting the LA Auto Show with an eclectic mix of premium products and concepts. Attention grabbing exhibits include new Mercedes SL, Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2, Range Rover Evoque Convertible, VW Beetle Dune and Convertible variants and the facelifted Mercedes GLS.

Hyundai presented its 2017 Elantra with a new turbo petrol engine and upgraded technology. Out of these cars, the Huracan LP 580-2 was launched in India yesterday while the Evoque Convertible, SL an GLS would make it to our shores sometime next year.
