First launched in 2012, Mahindra Quanto failed to attract its fair share of attention in the Indian auto industry. But, with Quanto Facelift set for launch in coming months, one can expect an improved package on offer.
New spy shots of Mahindra Quanto facelift reveal reworked headlight cluster, which now features daytime running lights. Apart from this, the Quanto is expected to get a new front grill and bumper (both front and rear), along with a new air-scoop hood on the bonnet. On the inside, it will get new layout, with better styling and equipment. Expect a new music system, steering wheel design and dashboard cluster. Seats will be in the same 5 seater configuration as today, with two jump seats at the rear.
Slated for launch in India just ahead of the festive season, Mahindra Quanto Facelift will be powered by the same 1.5 liter 3 cylinder diesel engine. This mill offers 100 PS power at 3,570 rpm and 240 Nm torque at between 1,600-2,800 rpm. It is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox sending power to rear wheels.
Apart from the manual transmission, new Quanto will also be offered with AMT, called Auto Shift. This variant was showcased at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, and has also been spied on test on multiple occasions. Once launched, Mahindra Quanto will become the first SUV to feature AMT in India. Price is expected in the Rs 6.5-8.5 lakhs range.
