In three trim levels – W4, W6 and W8 and in all black interiors, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift makes its way to South Africa.

Sporting a new front end and a host of on-board equipment, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift launches in South Africa priced from ZAR 262,995 to ZAR 359,995 (INR 12.68 lakhs to INR 17.36 lakhs).

Power comes from a 2.2 liter diesel engine offering 140 PS at 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm peak torque from 1,600-2,800 rpm. The motor is mated to a six speed manual gearbox, sending power to rear wheels. Fuel consumption is rated at 6.5 liters/100 km. With a new fuel tank of 70 liter capacity, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift can achieve a range of over 1000 km.

The interior is finished in all black.

Equipment list for South African markets includes all black interiors with silver accents, an updated infotainment system with 7” touchscreen display, cruise control, folding ORVMs and reverse parking camera. Where safety features are concerned, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift sports a total of 6 airbags and ABS with EBD along with hill descent control and all wheel disc brakes.

On the outside, XUV500 facelift is seen with chrome L shaped accents on re-positioned fog lights, a toothed grille with chrome inserts and new LED pilot lamps. The infotainment system also provides access to satellite navigation, audio functions and Bluetooth while iPod compatibility and USB sockets are also provided. Other parameters like include body dimensions and tyre specifications are the same as seen on the model on sale in India where it has been seeing sales to the tune of 3,200 units per month for the past four months.
