Spied testing near Maruti Suzuki manufacturing plant in Haryana on Greater Noida Expressway, sporting a Haryana State registration number plate, 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift launches in India just ahead of the festive season. Undergoing final tests prior to launch, 2015 Maruti Ertiga will receive some cosmetic and feature changes. Reports also suggest that the new Ertiga facelift is already unofficially open for bookings at a few company dealerships.
To sport an array of cosmetic modifications both on exterior and interior, 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift will be seen with a new three slat chrome grille, fog lamps with chrome housing and a new bumper design with set of reflectors. Interiors of the facelifted MPV receive new upholstery, electric folding mirrors, keyless entry and SmartPlay infotainment.
Major changes are seen where engine specifications are concerned. Its 1.3 liter multijet diesel engine offers 89 bhp peak power and 200 Nm peak torque which will now receive a SHVS micro hybrid system that was also seen on the Ciaz hybrid. This hybrid engine incorporates the use of a lithium ion battery charged via a regenerative braking system. Kinetic energy of the rolling wheels gets converted to electricity for charging of battery.
This, in addition to an idle start/stop system allows the engine to offer increased fuel efficiency. 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift will also receive a 1.4 liter K Series petrol engine offering 94 bhp power and 130 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
Following Government’s incentives upto INR 29,000 on electric and hybrid vehicles, 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift with SHVS technology will hardly see any price change.
