MINI’s new five door F55 will compete efficiently in the growing market of hatchbacks across the globe. It will possess shorter front doors and two small conventionally opening doors at the rear end. As seen on board the Countryman, the 2015 MINI will come in a smaller package while rear doors will extend upto rear wheel arches and upto the gas cap on the right side of the MINI.
Interiors will be similar in many respects to those seen on board the F56 and will be spacious with additional leg room of 5 cms as compared to the hardtop. Rear passenger compartment will be comfortable for upto three passengers.
Where engine details on board the new F55 is concerned, the same engine lineup as seen on F56 will continue with 1.5 liter three cylinder and 2.0 liter four cylinder turbocharged engines. Both the next gen MINI F55 and F56 are slated to be released over the next 18-24 months. (source)
