First launched in India at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the MINI range is a very exclusive offering from BMW India. Serving a very niche segment of the Indian auto industry, BMW made two new announcements regarding their MINI brand in India.
2015 MINI Countryman five door in India
The first announcement they made, is the launch of new 2015 MINI Countryman. Sitting at the top of the MINI range, price of 2015 Countryman in India is Rs 36.50 lakhs, ex-showroom. Offered only in the Cooper D trim, it is powered by a 2.0l inline 4 cylinder diesel engine which generates 112 hp power and 270 Nm torque. Mated to a six speed steptronic automatic transmission, it does a 0-100 kmph in 11.3 seconds.
Features on board the new MINI Countryman Cooper D include 9 colour options, roof caps in body colour/black/white, 17 inch new alloys, leather upholstery (black or beige), six airbags, sports seats, parking sensor, suto air con, on-board computer, brake assiste, run-flat indicator, ABS, DSC, DTC and much more. The second announcement made by BMW India today is the updated price list of MINI range, which is effective from today. As per the new price list, MINI range in India will be offered from Rs 28.50 lakhs to Rs 36.50 lakhs, ex-showroom. Below is the 2015 MINI price list for India:

All prices above are ex-showroom prices. All models will be sold as CBUs, BMW India has suspended assembling of MINI in India for some time. This means, the entry level MINI One Countryman, which became the first car to be produced outside of Europe in 2013, when it was assembled in India, will not be on offer.

BMW India was assembling three MINI Countryman variants – MINI One Countryman, MINI Cooper D Countryman, and MINI Cooper D Countryman High. When the were announced in 2013, their prices were Rs 23.50 lakhs, Rs 25.60 lakhs, and Rs 28.90 lakhs respectively. But as the new CKD kits will take some time to arrive, the company did not want to wait and offer customers in India the old Countryman, even when the new Countryman has been launched globally.
In order to speed up the launch, BMW India decided to launch MINI Countryman as CBU for now. Speaking to RushLane, BMW India confirmed that assembling of MINI Countryman will commence in a few months time. Expect the price to be revised once again at that time.
