2015 Toyota Camry spied in India before launch on 30th April

Keeping up with international market, and to provide their customers in India with updated products, Toyota India will launch the new 2015 Camry sedan on 30th April.

First unveiled at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show last year, the new Camry comes with a redesigned exterior and an upgraded interior. On the outside, 2015 Toyota Camry gets more chrome, new and narrower grille, new headlights with integrated LED DRLs, revised front and rear bumper, new alloys, chrome on ORVMs, rear gets a chrome strip which runs through the entire width. Side profile remains unchanged.

On the inside, new Toyota Camry will come with material upgrade like softer leather, plush seats, new steering wheel, 8 inch touchscreen panel to control music, navigation, and car systems. Apart from this, you also get wood finish on the centre console, gear know and arm rests on the door. The instrument panel now features a cool blue backlit with a 4.2 inch TFT screen and two circular dials for speedo and tacho.

Engine options will remain unchanged. India will continue to get 2.5l petrol engine delivering 181 PS power at 6000 rpm and 233 Nm torque at 4100 rpm. The other option if hybrid Camry. This one gets the same engine, in addition to an electric motor. The petrol mill on hybrid delivers 160 PS and 213 Nm torque, while electric motor delivers 143 PS and 270 Nm torque. Total system output stands at 205 PS. Speaking about price, expect Camry to start from Rs 26 lakhs, while Camry Hybrid will cost you Rs 32 lakhs.

First launched in 1982, Camry is Toyota’s best selling car in the world, after Corolla. Sadly, this world renowned car has not had a similar success in India. Not that the launch of new Camry will change this, but it does confirm the company’s commitment towards offering updated products to their consumers in India.
