2015 Volkswagen Jetta brochure and techspecs

2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift is scheduled for India launch on 17th February 2015. Before official launch, Rush Lane is currently in Pune to test drive the new Jetta organized by VW India. Though we are yet to drive the car (which is scheduled for tomorrow), we do have the official brochure with us, which reveals the techspecs and features of new Jetta for India.

Volkswagen Jetta for India

Best selling VW nameplate in the US, Jetta facelift was first unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show. Though dimensions remain same, at 4659 X 1778 X 1453 (LWH) mm, the new Jetta features a more aerodynamic exterior, and upgraded interior. Changes on the outside includes new front grille, new alloys, revised bumper, new two piece tail light, and bi-xenon headlamp with DRL. On the inside you new Jetta, you get three spoke steering wheel, music system with 6 CD changer, AUX-in and 8 speakers, fatigue detection system, six airbags, ABS and ESP. The new aerodynamic design has reduced overall drag by 10%, while the re-engineered new alloys offer lower rolling resistance.

New Volkswagen Jetta facelift for India will be offered in two engine options – 1.4l TSI petrol, 2.0l TDI diesel. The 1.4l TSI inline 4 cyl turbocharged engine delivers 122 PS power at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,500 – 4,000 rpm. This option will only be offered with a 6 speed MT. Mileage claimed is at 14.69 kmpl.

Volkswagen Jetta India techspecs

2.0l TDI in-line 4 cyl diesel engine delivers 140 PS max power at 4,200 rpm and 320 Nm peak torque between 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. This engine comes with wither a 6 speed MT or a 6 speed DSG. New Jetta diesel manual delivers 19.33 kmpl, while Jetta automatic mileage stands at 16.96 kmpl.

Price of new Volkswagen Jetta is expected to start in the range of Rs 13.5 lakhs. Once launched it will compete with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence, Hyundai Elantra, and Toyota Corolla.
