2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift launched: Price, specs, features, photos

With over 1.1 lakh Vento’s already on road, VW India officially launched the 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift today. This makes India the first market to receive the Vento facelift. Bookings of new Vento are open at a down payment of INR 25,000 to INR 75,000, depending on the dealer.

Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India with the 2015 VW Vento Facelift.

Exteriors of 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift boast of two new colours – Cloud Titanschwarz (with Trendline and Comfortline trims) and Walnut Desert Beige (with Highline variant). Exteriors feature new 3 slat chrome front grille, re-profiled bonnet with deeper creases, twin barrel headlamp and new fog lamps. The facelift also receives revised tail lamps and rear bumpers while it sits on new alloy wheels. It also gets new chrome lined doorhandles, electric ORVMs with LED turn indicators, chrome lining on bootlid, chrome lined exhaust tip, and soft touch release for boot lid.

Interiors boast of a new colour scheme, a flat bottom steering wheel and silver surrounds on central console. A state of the art stereo system and revised instrument cluster also form a part of the interior updates along with a chilled glove box, cruise control and a dead pedal.

Dashboard layout remains same, but gets new steering wheel.

Engine and Transmission

2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift sees no change in engine specifications as it continues to be powered by a 1.5 liter diesel TDI engine capable of 105 PS peak power and 250 Nm torque. The other two engines are 1.6L MPI and 1.2L TSI, both generating 105 PS power but 153 Nm and 175 Nm torque respectively. The diesel 1.5 TDI is mated to a 7 speed DSG or a 5 speed manual, while the 1.6 MPI only comes with 5 speed MT and the 1.2 TSI only gets 7 speed DSG.

Fuel Efficiency of Vento Facelift

As compared to the outgoing Vento, Volkswagen claims that the new Vento is more efficient. The diesel Vento delivers up to 7% more fuel efficiency while the petrol Vento delivers upto 2% more mileage.

Vento 1.6 MPI MT – 16.09 kmpl
Vento 1.2 TSI DSG – 18.19 kmpl
Vento 1.5 TDI MT – 20.64 kmpl
Vento 1.5 TDI DSG – 21.50 kmpl

Fuel efficiency comparison – Old vs new Vento.

It is this better styling, rich new interiors and enhanced fuel efficiency that has led to the 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift receiving a marginal increase in pricing as compared to its current model.
