2015 Volvo XC90 August launch confirmed, interiors revealed

2015 Volvo XC90 interiorsFor Volvo, the new XC90 launch is amongst their most awaited. To share their anticipation, they have created a launch programme for the XC90. Basically, every few days, they will share official images of the XC90, before it is fully revealed in August. The programme is launched today, with the first interior images.

Speaking about the interior of 2015 XC90, Volvo says that it is their most luxurious interior till date. Some highlights – “soft leather and wood with handcrafted”. Apart from this, to add a touch of shine, the gear lever of new XC90 is made of crystal glass from Orrefors, the famous glass maker in Sweden. Other functions that beg your attention is the diamond cut controls for volume control and start/stop button.

2015 Volvo XC90 seating arrangement“The most striking feature is a tablet-like touch screen control console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system,” adds Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President Design of Volvo Cars. As you can see from the images of Volvo XC90’s interiors, it is virtually button free. Volvo says that this kind of design gives their customers a completely new way to control the car.

2015 Volvo XC90 steering wheel“These details are designed to become the jewels of the interior. They add a bit of exclusive playfulness rather than pure functionality,” said Robin Page, Volvo Cars’s Interior Design Director.

Built on the all new Volvo platform, called SPA – Scalable Product Architecture, the XC90 comes with better driveability, more space and latest in-car technologies. It can easily fit 7 adults, with each having their own stowage area. Third row will have air vents as well.

What about engine options on board the Volvo XC90? Well, Volvo says they will reveal more about the engines and chassis in their next update under this launch programme. They will also reveal more on safety and interior air quality before the car is finally revealed in August 2014.
