Based on new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) platform, Volvo XC90 SUV for India is powered by a 2.0 liter twin turbo four cylinder diesel engine. This engine generates 225 hp power and 460 Nm torque which is transmitted to the wheels via 8 speed auto transmission. Being projected as the most economical, safest and luxurious SUV in its segment, XC90 will rival the likes of BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes GL Class.
Volvo XC90 SUV measures 4,950mm in length, 1,923mm in width and 1,776mm in height and sits on 21” alloy wheels. Available in two variants – Momentum and Inscription, price or Momentum trim is at Rs 64.9 lakhs, while that of Inscription trim is Rs 77.9 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
The Momentum trim receives features such as keyless entry, panoramic sun roof, electrically operated tail gate, adjustable driver seat and foldable rear seats. Safety features include rain sensing wipers, LED headlamps, Hill Descent Control and Park Assist. The Inscription trim sports all the features seen on the Momentum trim with the addition of 19 speaker Bowers & Wilkins music system, air suspension, heads up display and heated and ventilated front seats.
In cabin features also include iPad like touchscreen control panel, cloud based navigation system and Apple Car Play with voice command. Done up in Nappa leather, interiors are spacious and comfortable while with foldable third row seats, boot space is also at a premium.
