Yamaha introduced Blue Core Technology in FZ & FZ-S FI Version 2.0, last year. Among many significant changes in the motorcycles, the company’s innovative Blue Core Technology was spoken highly of. It is nothing but a set of principles applied to engine design, to improve its combustion and cooling efficiency, to reduce power loss.As said, Yamaha SZ FI and Fazer FI with BCT were launched in due course after FZ FI. Now the company’s scooter lineup comprising of Alpha, Ray and Ray Z, are given the same upgrade. As a result, the latest versions of these scooters are said to deliver notably improved mileage, of 66 kmpl, compared to 62 kmpl in previous models.
These scooters are powered by fresh 113 cc single cylinder air-cooled engine, with a few minor changes like Nickel spark plug (for improved combustion), new muffler setting and new BS carburetor & TPS setting.
In the process, the latest Yamaha Ray, Ray Z and Alpha models are given new colour schemes and body graphics, as part of facelift operation or mid-cycle update. For 2015 Yamaha Ray, no new colour is offered, but for 2015 Yamaha Ray Z new Cyan Splash is introduced, and for 2015 Yamaha Alpha new Gleaming Gold colour is added to its palette.
