2016 Audi A4 awarded 5 star safety rating by Euro NCAP

2016 Audi A4 made its global debut earlier this year at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Priced from €30,650 in Germany, new A4 is built on a new lightweight platform, which not only has made the car lighter, but also stronger.

Euro NCAP recently crash tested the new A4, and gave it a 5 star safety rating. In adult occupancy, new A4 scored 90%, for child occupant, A4 scored 87%, pedestrian safety is at 75% while safety assist features are also at 75%. The same when compared to the old A4, stood at 93%, 84%, 39%, and 71%.

New Audi A4 is 25 mm longer at 4.73 meter, and 16 mm wider at 1.84 meter than the existing A4. It has a wheelbase of 2.82 meter (12 mm longer) and has a kerb weight of 1,564 kgs (lighter by about 100 kgs). New A4 is also more aerodynamic, which makes the car even more fuel efficient.

Engine options on board the new A4 includes 1.4 liter TFSI generating 150 PS/250 Nm, 2.0-litre TFSI in two tunes 190 PS/320 Nm and 252 PS/370 Nm. Diesel options are 2.0-litre TDI in two tunes 150 PS/320 Nm and 190 PS/400 Nm and a top of the line 3.0 liter V6 TDI in two tunes 218 PS/400 Nm and 272 PS/600 Nm tunes.

Looking more sharper and agile than the current A4, new A4 is also well equipped on the inside. Featuring interiors inspired from the new Q7, A4 gets Audi Virtual Cockpit, 8.3 inch retractable screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, individual 10.1 inch screens for rear passengers, LED ambient lighting, music system from Bang & Olufsen, redesigned seats, adaptive cruise control, Traffic-Jam Assist, LED headlights, 12 radar sensors and much more.
