The 2016 Audi A4 has been launched in India. The new gen luxury sedan is an entirely different beast compared to the outgoing car. New A4 sedan will be available only with a 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine at the time of the launch. The motor will be paired with an 8-speed S-Tronic auto gearbox.
Available in two trims, Premium Plus and Technology, price starts from INR 38.1 lakh. The top of the line technology trim is priced from INR 41.2 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi & Maharashtra). Below is the detailed price list of the new A4.
The petrol motor is rated at a rather modest 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. A 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine is expected to join the lineup in November this year. Audi India may bring the 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine if it’s deemed necessary.
The 2016 A4 which is based on the MLB architecture is much lighter than its predecessor even though the overall length has increased by 25 mm. The new A4 also sports 12 mm longer wheelbase which has led to increased room for the rear seat occupants.
The interior design is inspired by the Q7. The car is expected to come with standard MMI which incorporates Audi Drive Select, Apply CarPlay, Android Auto, etc., and optional Virtual Cockpit digital instrument console.

The 2016 Audi A4 would be assembled locally out of CKD kits. It will be pitted against the Mercedes C Class, BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE, and Volvo S60.
