2016 Audi S8 Plus, a new top-end variant of the A8 series, has been unveiled ahead of its global sales debut in November. With a phenomenal power output of 605 PS, the sports saloon is the most powerful model in the series’ history.
The S8 Plus gets Matrix LED headlamps as standard.
Audi engineers have made extensive changes to reguar S8’s 4.0-litre TFSI V8 petrol engine to extract 85 PS of additional output. Torque output stands at 700 Nm which can be increased to 750 Nm in Overboost mode. As a result, the performance limousine can shoot forward from rest to ton in a mere 3.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kph but can be optionally extended up to 305 kph.
Interior is trimmed with leather and Alcantara.
S8 Plus can be visually differentiated from S8 by means of a rear lip spoiler which is available either in body color or with carbon fibre finish and sporty twin exausts. The front SingleFrame grille is finished in glossy black while the side air intakes adopt matte black finish.

Interior gets a sporty full black color theme with plus leather seats and Alcantara trims. Other noteworthy interior elements include piano black centre console, stainless steel pedal covers, ambient lighting, convience key with sensor-driven luggage compartment locking and powered door locks.
S8 Plus produces 85 PS more than S8.
Prices in Germany start at 145,200 euros (around INR 1 cr) Since Mercedes India is launching S 63 AMG sedan in India, Audi too could be fielding its S8 Plus here sometime next year but it’s a little too early to say with certainty.
