Organized by Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) along with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the 2016 Auto Expo comprises of two events. The Auto Expo Motor Show is being held from February 5-9 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida while Auto Expo Component Show will take place from February 4-7 at Pragati Maidan.
Preparations to hold this super show are currently underway to take this biennial event up a few notches. The 2016 Delhi Motor Show is expected to draw in over 100 exhibitors which include 65 big players while the Component Show will attract participation from 1,500 exhibitors from over 20 countries.
The indoor exhibition area at India Expo Mart Limited (IEML) has been increased to 68,000 sq mtrs as against 62,000 sq mtrs of space seen at the 2014 Auto Expo. Construction of 6 large halls measuring 37,240 sq mtrs is being constructed with air conditioning and power supply while earlier editions had to make do with smaller halls and temporary hangers.
Press briefing on 2016 Auto Expo by organizers.2016 Delhi Auto Expo expects to draw the attention of over 6 lakh visitors over the 5 day period which could be a good 20% over the last year’s count. Exhibitor count has also gone up from 55 in 2014 to 65 for the upcoming show.
List of vehicle manufacturers participating are – Ashok Leyland, Audi India, BMW India, Datsun, Fiat India, Ford India, General Motors, Honda Cars India, Hyundai Motor India, Isuzu Motors India, Jaguar Land Rover, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, Mercedes-Benz India, Nissan Motor India, Renault India, Scania Commercial Vehicles India, SML Isuzu, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, VE Commercial Vehicles, Volkswagen India.
List of two wheeler manufacturers participating are Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, India Yamaha Motor, Mahindra 2 wheelers, Piaggio Vehicles, Suzuki Motorcycle India, Triumph Motorcycles India, TVS Motor Company. This means Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield and Harley Davidson will not be participating.
Besides leading automobile companies exhibiting their products, 2016 Auto Expo will also see new entrants such as Abarth, BMW Motorrad, Jeep, DSK Benelli, Indian Motorcycle, etc. High end bicycles, oil companies, tyre and tube manufacturers, auto design and technology companies besides auto insurance companies and media and auto portals will also be present at the event. Food stalls from Taj and Radisson Hotels to KFC and BTW – Bittoo Tikki Wala will occupy an area of 1,000 sq mtrs catering to the food demands of exhibitors and visitors.
Tickets for 2016 Auto Expo are available online at www.autoexpo-themotorshow.in and www.bookmyshow.com. Tickets are priced at INR 650 for business visitors during weekdays from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm while tickets for the general public are priced at INR 300 for weekdays from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm and at INR 400 for weekends from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
