Spyshots of yet another new product from Bajaj have emerged online. Called the Bajaj CT100 B, the no-frills commuter is essentially the stripped down version of the CT100 which was relaunched last year.
The emergence of the new motorcycle at a dealership strongly indicates that it will be launched in the coming days. It’s to be noted that the Pune-based automaker is also gearing up to launch the new brand V executive commuter which is made with the metal from the decommissioned INS Vikrant aircraft carrier.
The CT100 B is a reincarnation of Bajaj’s affordable rural work horse. The design is not entirely new although the decals and color options render a fresh appeal. In a bid to keep the cost in check, the motorcycle favors a circular headlamp over the CT100’s bikini fairing.
It also receives circular rear view mirrors and a grab rail with integrated luggage rack. The tail makes do without body work and houses a triangular taillight. Spoke wheels, drum brakes and skinny tyres complete the package.
It’s safe to assume that the 2016 Bajaj CT100 B will derive its 99.27 cc engine and a 4-speed transmission from its bikini-faired sibling without any changes. Power and torque figures stand at 8.2 hp and 8.05 Nm respectively. The CT100 retails at 35,800, so expect the CT100 B to carry a price tag in the vicinity of INR 32,000 (both are ex-showroom prices).
