2016 Chevrolet Spark (Beat) unveiled at 2015 Seoul Motor Show

Redesigned, refined and more powerful and with a host of safety features.

Unveiled simultaneously at 2015 New York Auto Show and 2015 Seoul Motor Show, the new generation 2016 Chevrolet Spark, as it is known in international markets, will go on sale by the end of this year. In India, the same car is sold as Chevrolet Beat.

Powered by a 1.4 liter Ecotec four cylinder engine, the engine offers 98 bhp power. This is 16% more power as compared to outgoing variant. This new engine is an all-new aluminium engine, mated to a 5 speed manual or CVT offering fuel efficiency of 40 mpg (17 kmpl) on the new Spark.

2016 Chevrolet Spark is seen with a new front grille flanked by traditional headlights, a sloping roof and new tailgate with spoiler. Interiors are refined with high quality fabric upholstery, trapezoidal air vents and a host of comfort features and on board technology that includes Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a 7” color touch screen.

Safety features abound on the 2016 Chevrolet Spark to include among others, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Spot Alert. 2016 Chevrolet Spark sits on a longer wheelbase while height is reduced marginally by 1.6 inches. This gives the new Spark a sleeker stance while substantial headroom and interior space is maintained.

2016 Chevrolet Spark is built of stronger architecture resulting in a better riding experience and quieter ride and it will be offered in three new colors of Toasted Marshmallow, Kalamata and Splash. The model will be produced from the company Changwon, South Korea assembly plant from where it will be exported to over 40 global markets. No indications on pricing which could be revealed when the new Spark goes on sale in fourth quarter of 2015.
