The all new Chevrolet Spark was spied last month completely off-guard and now it is teased to gather some momentum around the brand.
New gen Chevy Spark (Beat in India) will be about 3.7 metres long, with 2.4 metres wheelbase. Salient features would include sun roof, reverse / park assist, cruise control, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, well equipped infotainment system and 1,000 litres boot space with rear seats folded.
The Chevrolet Spark teaser reveals that compared to the outgoing model, it adopts a thoroughly revised design, which is more of an evolution being the next gen model. It will be based on Vauxhall Viva (or) Opel Karl, but unlike these duo, next gen Spark will retain the rear door handles being placed along the C-pillars similar to the existing model.
Technical specification of 2016 Spark is not officially revealed. But it is expected to host the same powertrain as its European doppelgängers. Meaning, it would come with 1.0 litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine producing 75 hp max power, mated to 5-speed manual transmission. Mileage would be around 4.3 liters / 100 km (23.25 kmpl), and CO2 emissions of around 99 g/km.
The new Chevrolet Spark will also be launched in India, hopefully later this year or early next year. GM India’s plant in Halol manufactures the Spark, not only for India, but also for exports.
