2016 Ferrari 488 GTB which stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta is inspired by Ferrari 308 GTB launched 40 years ago. The new 488 GTB made its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9 liter, turbocharged, V8 engine producing 670 hp at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm torque at 3,000 rpm allowing for acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3 seconds. Top speed stands at 330 kmph while a single lap around the Ferrari Fiorano track will be accomplished in 1 min 23 seconds. Fuel consumption stands at 11.41 l/100 km (8.76 kmpl) while auto emissions are at 260 g/km.
Crafted as the most responsive production model from Ferrari, the new 488 is designed by Ferrari Styling Center. It receives an improved system that works with the F1 –Trac and E-Diff system enhancing stability, traction and precision. Exteriors boast of a large air intake, a wider front spoiler, new blown spoiler to enhance downforce while at the rear LED tail lamps in a new design are seen. Interiors of the Ferrari 488 GTB boast of new satellite control clusters, angled air vents and a new instrument panel. Seating is comfortable while infotainment system is seen with new interface and graphics.
2016 Ferrari 488 GTB measures 4,568mm in length, 1,952mm in width and 1,213mm in height. It has a weight distribution of 46.5% in front and 53.5% at the rear and has a dry weight of 1,370 kgs. No official prices have been announced as on date but one can expect a price tag of around £190,000 when the Ferrari 488 GTB goes into production in September this year.
