2016 Ford Endeavour spied testing, launch in a few weeks

2016 Ford Endeavour Spied

The next generation of Ford Endeavour SUV has been spied testing once again, this time with 6 speed manual and 4 WD.

2016 Ford Endeavor is on the brink of being launched in India. Spied on test on a number of occasions, this time it has been spied completely undisguised, and wearing a Maharashtra number plate.

To compete with the likes of Chevrolet Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, SsangYong Rexton and Hyundai Santa Fe, new generation Endeavour gets two diesel engine options.

These are in the form of 2.2 liter diesel engine capable of peak output of 158 bhp and peak torque of 385 Nm. The second option is a 3.2 liter diesel 5 cylinder TDCI diesel engine offering 197 bhp power and 470 Nm torque. While the former will be mated to a 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic gearbox, the latter gets only a 6 speed automatic transmission.

2016 Ford Endeavour gets new hexagonal three slat front grille flanked by hefty headlamps, flared wheel arches, chrome accents and aluminum diamond cut wheels. On the inside, it gets premium features like leather encased dashboard, leather seats and a touchscreen SYNC 2 system.

New features on offer include Terrain Management Control enabling driver to switch to drive modes of Normal, Snow/Gravel/Grass, Sand and Rock depending on driving conditions.

Pricing of 2016 Ford Endeavour is expected to be in the same range as before – between INR 22.16 lakhs to INR 25.67 lakhs. More details will be revealed once the car is officially launched in the coming days.
