2016 Honda CBR150R rendered based on spyshots

The new gen model adopts a much more aggressive design language.

The 2016 Honda CBR150R which was spied in Indonesia earlier this week has been rendered fairly accurately. The compact fully faired sportsbike is expected to be unveiled in the country sometime later this month.

Honda has completely revamped the product, giving it an individuality in the process (current model is essentially a smaller engined variant of the CBR250R). Whereas the existing CBR150R has a laid back compact sportsbike appeal, the next iteration is sportier, more aggressive and full of intent.

The motorcycle gets twin headlamps which are reported to incorporate LED elements, sharper panels on the front fairing, redesigned fuel tank, a superbike like tailpiece with elevated pillion seat, LED taillights, new alloy wheels, restyled exhaust canister and a fully digital instrument console.

The handlebar is set lower than before. We expect the rider foot pegs to be pushed behind a bit to make for an aggressive riding posture. The 2016 CBR150R would aim squarely at the Yamaha R15 V2.0 which is known for its high revving engine and exemplary handling characteristics.

The spyshots revealed that the motorcycle continues to employ a telescopic front fork and rear monoshock suspension system. Indonesian media reports indicate that the 2016 Honda CBR150R will employ a more powerful 150 cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine.
