The 10th generation 2016 Honda Civic sedan will receive two engine options. It will be powered by a 2.0 liter engine offering 158 hp or a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine capable of 175 hp at 5,000 rpm. These engine options will depend on trim level with the LX and EX variants receiving the 2.0 liter engine while the LX-T, EX-T and Touring variants being powered by the 1.5 liter engine.
The 2.0 liter engine is mated to manual transmission capable of 27 mpg in city limits and going upto 40 mpg on the highway while the 1.5 liter turbocharged with CVT is more efficient going upto 31 mpg in city limits and 42 mpg on highway.
Set to rival the likes of Audi A3, Dodge Dart, Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, and Toyota Corolla in the US, 2016 Honda Civic Sedan LX variant is priced at $21,275 (INR 13,81,437). 2016 Civic EX-T is priced at $23,035 (INR 14,95,718) while range topping 2016 Honda Civic Touring is priced at $27,335 (INR 17,74,860) inclusive of shipping.
Roomier than the outgoing model, 2016 Honda Civic Sedan is 3 inches longer, 2 inches wider and has an extra 3.2 cubic feet of interior space. Features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, LaneWatch camera, Honda Sensing package and various other safety, comfort and infotainment features will depend on variants.
Honda has developed 2016 Honda Civic Sedan at the company’s tech center in Ohio. While the new Civic goes on sale in November, there will also be a hatchback, Si and Type R performance models all slated for launch in the coming 18 months.
