2016 Honda Civic leaked patent sketches reveal production-spec Coupe and Sedan
2016 Honda Civic Concept had its world premiere at the recently concluded 2015 New York International Auto Show, and it was revealed online a few days before, all just earlier this month. And in about no time, the design of production-spec model has been leaked, not just of the Coupe, but also of the Sedan body type.
The 2016 Honda Civic Concept is reckoned to be the sportiest and most dynamic form of Civic ever, with its aggressive attention to details all around the car. Same was not expected to be inherited by road-going model, but it seems some strands of the design DNA have been retained.
The next gen Honda Civic that is set to go on sale in the US in the final quarter of 2015, looks a bit hostile indeed, but lacks the rear wing fitted on the Concept version. But, it could be offered on the more fashionable Civic Si variant, and other finer craftsmanship on the Concept could find its way into the Civic Type R version.
The funky interconnected taillights on the Civic Coupe Concept has made it to the final spec, but the sedan version, though carries the same steeply sloping roofline despite the addition of two doors at the rear, lacks the bridge between the boomerang-shaped tail lamps. The leaked patent sketches show only the Coupe and Sedan models, the entire US-bound family including hatchback, Si and Type R trims are yet to see the light of day.
