2016 Hyundai Elantra spied before April unveil, gets new gen styling
2016 Hyundai Elantra is apparently spied before global unveil next month. From the looks of it, the next gen Elantra features an evolved design language, that substantially enhances the D-segment sedan’s presence.
Also known as 2016 Hyundai Avante, the upcoming model is based on a new platform. Codenamed Hyundai AD, the saloon is decorated with a revolutionary design, with some hints of Hyundai i40 facelift presented last December. The car looks bold but somewhat aged, probably due to the blunt design.
Front fascia of 2016 Elantra wears signature trapezoidal grille, with chrome surrounds and horizontal slats. Headlamps contain projector lights and vertically oriented Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are placed at the far corners of front bumper. No other angle or profile of the new model is revealed or leaked.
New Elantra could draw power from a set of 4-cylinder diesel engines and the new 1.6 litre T-GDI petrol motor doing duty in Hyundai Tuson SUV. The gasoline engine dishes out 176 PS max power, and has two reduction choices including new 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and 6-speed manual.
2016 Hyundai Elantra is expected to go on sale in its domestic market around mid-2015.
