2016 Jaguar XF photos, videos released, debut on 1st April, 2015

2016 Jaguar XF photos show that the model more or less resembles the XE sedan. There is no radical change in the way the next gen XF looks, but there are changes made to its overall dimensions. Compared to the outgoing model, new XF is 7 mm shorter in length, 3 mm shorter in height and 51 mm longer in wheelbase.

Thanks to lavish use of aluminium (75 percent of overall construction) in the all-new Jaguar XF, weight is reduced by whooping 190 kg, while improving torsional stiffness by a massive 28 percent. Weight distribution achieved is almost 50:50.

Engine options on the all-new XF will include 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine in two tunes. Lower version will churn out 163 HP max power and 380 Nm peak torque, while higher variant will dish out 180 HP and 430 Nm. Powerful trims of 2016 Jaguar XF will receive 3.0 litre V6 engines. A twin-turbo variant pushing 300 HP and 700 Nm, and a supercharged version squeezing out 380 HP and 450 Nm.

Except for the 2.0 litre Ingenium which can also be ordered with specially tuned 6-speed manual gearbox, all engine variants receive only 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0 diesel manual XF is the most fuel efficient version, returning mileage of 25 kmpl (as per standard tests).

Special features in 2016 Jaguar XF include an InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 10.2 inch touchscreen. It is powered by a quad-core processor and uses a Solid State Drive (SSD) for ultra-fast storage and performance. On top of that, there is a 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster which can be reconfigured and a 17-speaker digital surround sound system powered by 825 watt Meridian unit.

To compete with the likes of Mercedes E Class, Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series, the new XF will enter European and US markets in the coming months. India launch is scheduled for 2016. Expect price to start in the Rs 50 lakh range.
