Price of Maruti Alto 800 facelift will be similar to that of existing variants.

World’s best selling car, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is all set to receive a facelift. Spied completely undisguised, 2016 Maruti Alto 800 facelift is expected to be launched in the coming months.

Feeling the heat from new small cars, Maruti Suzuki small car sales (Alto + WagonR) have declined continued their decline this year (MoM when compared to last year’s sales). This is largely due to the arrival of new small cars which are not only aggressively priced, but also offer more features, space, fuel efficiency and top of it all, are much more attractive to look at.

This new lot of cars which are probably causing decline in sales of Maruti small cars are Datsun Go, Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago, and to an extent, the upcoming Datsun Redi-Go. It seems like Maruti Suzuki India has readied an updated Alto 800, which will be the last facelift of the car before a new generation Alto is launched in late 2017.

Speaking about design changes on offer with the spied units of Alto 800, they are seen with a revised front thanks to a mild update given to the design of headlamps and grille. Gone is the chrome slat from the front grille, which has now become slimmer than before. The Suzuki logo now sits on the lower bumper which features a trapezoidal air dam instead of the hexagonal air dam of the existing variant.

The facelifted Alto 800 also gets circular fog lamps, while side and rear profle remains largely similar. Inside too is expected to be same as current Alto. Airbags and ABS will be on offer, as is on the current Alto 800.
