2016 Maruti Ertiga facelift would be unveiled in its Indonesian avatar at the upcoming Indonesia International Motor Show 2015 that is set to open doors on August 20. The mid-life refresh for India is expected to be slightly different from its Indonesian counterpart and is expected to be launched during festive season (September to November).
Like the Swift and Swift Dzire facelifts, 2016 Ertiga would receive minor exterior styling upgrades, primarily comprising of a new chrome grille, reprofiled front bumper and new alloy wheel/hubcap designs. Improvements on the inside are expected to come in the form of new equipment such as automatic climate control, control for power folding mirrors, updated infotainment system and possibly push button start.
In terms of powertrain, the 1.4 litre K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine will continue to be offered but would undergo some tweaks for improved fuel efficiency. The petrol motor currently puts out 95 PS and 130 Nm of torque while the oil burner is good for 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The K-Series engine can also be had in CNG version. A 5-speed manual transmission comes as a standard.
With the facelifted 2016 Ertiga, Maruti would be looking to retain its ground which is under threat by newer Honda Mobilio and Renault Lodgy.
