Launch in India is expected towards the end of 2016.

2016 Mercedes CLA was caught on video for the first time, in its Shooting Brake avatar. The affordable premium model which is likely to make its world premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show next month would feature improvements that were first seen on the recently unveiled A Class facelift.

Considering that the design still feels youthful and fresh, Mercedes designers have opted only for subtle revisions. The car receives optional Multibeam LED headlights with new LED daytime running lights, reprofiled front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels and a set of tweaked LED rear combination lights. Like in A Class, the automaker may introduce new exterior color options.

Changes on the inside would include enhanced material quality, new color themes, updated instrument console, revised seats, and a COMAND infotainment system with Apply CarPlay. Customers would also have the option of upgrading the tablet-like standalone display to a bigger 8-inch unit.

A new diffuser and revised taillights identify the facelifted CLA Class.

Powertrain lineup would be retained albeit with improved efficiency and reduced emissions. Bigger diesel and petrol engines would also receive a marginal power hike like in the case of its hatchback sibling. Mercedes is in the process of revising its variant nomenclature which involves replacing CDI moniker with a simple D in case of diesel variants and having no identifying alphabets for petrol variants. Updated CLA 45 AMG will get its output pumped up to 381 PS.

Mercedes is expected to be ready with 2016 CLA by Spring of 2016 for international markets. India launch is likely to happen towards the end of next year.
