After unveiling the concept Clubman at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, MINI has officially taken wraps off the production variant of the 2016 Clubman.
Featuring comfortable seating for five adults, a 360 liter boot and 40:20:40 split fold rear seats which can enhance load space to 1250 liters, the 2016 MINI Clubman is officially revealed. Larger than its predecessor by 27cms in length and 9 cms in width, wheelbase is also longer by 10cms; resulting in additional cabin and cargo space.
2016 MINI Clubman is offered with three engine options that include a 1.5 liter TwimPower Turbo three cylinder offering 136 PS power and 220 Nm torque allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 kmph. The second engine option is a 2.0 litter TwinPower Turbo four cylinder offering 192 PS power and 280 Nm torque with 0 to 100 kmph speed achieved in 7.1 seconds. Its diesel engine is a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo four cylinder diesel that is capable of 150 PS power and 330 Nm torque due to which speeds upto 100 kmph is possible in 8.5 seconds while top speed is at 212 kmph.
Styling elements on the exterior of the 2016 MINI Clubman include wide tail lamps and a secondary set of lights on the rear bumper while the front end receives optional LED headlights. Exteriors boast of new paint finishes of Melting Silver Metallic and Pure Burgundy Metallic while roof and exterior mirror caps are in white, black or silver contrasts.
Interiors see the inclusion of a new dashboard, ambient lighting and power seats while its leather upholstery is in matching Burgundy or Indigo Blue. Well defined instrument cluster, instrument panel and infotainment and navigation functions along with a host of safety features further accentuate its interiors.
